Information on speaking at meetings

Your voice matters! Participating in city council meetings is a powerful way to influence local decisions in Dundas, Minnesota. We're here to guide you through the process, ensuring your concerns regarding the proposed development and TIF district are heard loud and clear by the council and recorded for the official record.

What's the most important step once I arrive at council chambers?

When you arrive at council chambers, obtain a white slip from the clerk to fill out with your name and address. Please return these to the city administrator/clerk for the official record. This ensures your presence and comments are formally noted.

What if I'm worried about what to say or how much?

You can say as much or as little as you want. The most important thing is to make sure you voice your opinion opposing this development and TIF district burden to taxpayers. Even a brief statement makes a difference!

I've never spoken at a meeting before, any advice?

Don't be nervous! The council is already divided on this issue. Your presence and input are valuable and can sway opinions. Simply speak from the heart about your concerns.

What kind of impact can my comments have?

Your comments contribute to the public record and demonstrate the community's concern. This can significantly influence how the city council members vote and their future decisions regarding the TIF district and other developments in Dundas.

I am opposed to the proposed increase in residential lots for Stoneridge Hills 2nd Addition and the use of TIF to help fund it. Changes that increase density beyond typical R-1 neighborhoods should be carefully considered, and public subsidy should only be used when clearly necessary. I respectfully ask the City Council to deny both the density amendments and the TIF request.
